This blog post has been a long time coming… it’s been sitting patiently in our drafts folder as we waited for the publication of the brand spanking new Bula Bride magazine, where this wedding is featured (head here to get a copy for yourself). So we’re excitedly kicking off the year on the blog with Lily + Rune’s engagement and elopement in Fiji!
It’s hard to explain the feeling of excitement you get when you open up your inbox to find someone telling you of their plans for a romantic elopement on the stunning shores of Fiji’s Paradise Taveuni Resort. Lily + Rune were heading there, all the way from Norway, and wanted us to document it. Needless to say, it didn’t take us long to accept their offer and come mid-July we were boarding a plane, Fiji-bound. We met up the day before too for a little engagement session, utilising the beautiful scenery, and an incredible waterfall… all the things that we love about Fiji.
The wedding day itself was beautiful, with a super relaxed vibe. The day began with them getting ready together (make sure to look out for the photo of them brushing their teeth together – so cute!). The ceremony was a really intimate and special occasion and we loved how they’d written their vows on postcards, in Norwegian of course (which sounds amazing, check out their vows in their video!) We had a great time with the two of them afterwards, visiting different locations around the area, utilising the beach, palm trees and lush Fijian forest. As the sun began to set, Lily + Rune braved the waters for a mini shoot, making for some stunning, romantic images that we’re sure they’ll love for a long time to come. We had such an awesome day, and Lily + Rune were such legends – it truly was a privilege to be there to witness their marriage.
