Clare & Daniel got married on the 17th of August & it was a wedding we had been looking forward to for a long time. We took the ferry over to Waiheke in the morning, arriving to blue skies & sunshine, and headed to where Claire & her bridesmaids were getting ready.
She looked absolutely stunning in her John Zimmerman dress, complimented by her gorgeous flowers crafted by Waiheke Flower Gallery. We were really impressed with Simmy & Ness the makeup and hair artist, they were fabulous and did such a great job.
We headed over to where the boys were getting ready, only to find they were in t-shirts with ties – their shirts had been left behind over in Auckland! Someone was on the next ferry bringing over new shirts, so in the meantime we tried to steer clear of the rain & headed to the beach where Clare & Daniel were planning to have their first look. The rain by this point was a bit too heavy, so the girls headed up to the wedding venue, Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant while the boys (whose shirts had fortunately arrived!) got dressed out the back of the Little Oneroa Beach Dairy.
With the boys ready to go, we all headed to the shelter of Mudbrick & went ahead with the first look – always such an exciting moment when they see each other for the first time! Thankfully the rain gave way for a bit, allowing us to get some beautiful bridal party shots with the stunning backdrop of the Mudbrick gardens. We took Daniel & Clare for some quick portraits on the beach, during which time the wind swiftly whisked Clare’s veil incredibly high up a tree… It was retrieved the next day without a single rip!
