We met Lianne at the Grand Wedding Show and when she + Nick came to visit us at the studio not long after, we had our fingers crossed that they would choose us to document their day! Not only because Lianne + Nick are so awesome, but because Mantells on the Water is one of our favourite venues, as is Mollies for a getting ready venue, and Lianne was going to have an Anna Schimmel gown – all ingredients for a perfect wedding day! Needless to say, when they booked we had a little squeal of excitement (and our faces were probably a bit like this…)
We started off with Nick and his groomsmen at their place where the atmosphere was nice and chilled, where the boys were nearly all ready to go, with a beer in hand. We got a few photos of them making the final preparations before heading across to Mollies in Mt Eden where Lianne, her bridesmaids and family were getting ready. This place is so timeless, providing a beautiful backdrop for all of the bridal photographs. There was a really special moment once Lianne was dressed when her Dad saw her for the first time – there were a few tears, so sweet! Before long, we were off to Mantells on the Water… Melanie Kerr did an amazing job as always officiating the ceremony. Vows were exchanged, the license signed and a kiss sealed the deal, and Lianne + Nick were husband and wife. Hugs all round followed and then we nipped away to nearby Pt Erin park for a few photographs with the newlyweds and their bridal party. We’re especially loving the cute close-ups of Lianne + Nick by the green hedging and the majestic branches of the trees at the park.
We love documenting an action-packed reception like theirs, which was complete with speeches, tears, toasts, a full-on dance routine by Lianne’s nieces, an epic first dance and some sing-along dance offs to T-Swift’s Shake it Off. What. A. Night.
Thanks again Lianne + Nick, wishing you all the best for this new year and the rest of your lives as husband + wife. Hope to see you again soon!
