Rachel + Ben’s wedding day was rainy. Torrential kind of rainy. And while we could totally understand a little disappointment at the weather, what stands out is just how awesomely they dealt with what they’d been given. They were beyond happy to be getting married, and really, that’s all that matters at the end of the day. We were so thankful that we’d been so lucky to get such an awesome couple!
Rachel was determined that the planned outdoor ceremony at Kumeu Valley Estate was going to go ahead. Thankfully the rain eased just in time, allowing the ceremony to go ahead outside! Rachel was stoked about that, and we were so happy for her that at least part of the day could go as planned. The vows they exchanged were perfect, and we could tell these two are destined to be a wonderful marriage.
By the time we headed out to Muriwai, it was hosing. With the windscreen wipers on full bore, we weren’t sure how the next hour was going to unfold… Admirably though, Rachel + Ben were determined that they wanted their scenic photos, and because they were up for it, so were we! So we all braved the rain and stepped out for a few images, and we’re really glad we did! Kudos to the bridal party, especially the girls!! Rachel + Ben managed to do their best at channelling warm, dry thoughts, and they ended up with some romantic photos – it was all worth it!
The lovely Annette at Kumeu Valley Estate helped us dry Rachel + the girls off before making their grand entrance, and we enjoyed the rest of the evening, documenting the speeches, cake cutting, first dance and some sparkler photos. Such fun!
Rachel + Ben, thank you both for being such legends. We’re looking forward to seeing you again soon! x
