Rachel and Jesse are such a great couple – we so enjoyed meeting them and were stoked when they chose us to document their wedding day. I feel like Rachel and I have similar personalities (although I think she has more of Delwyn’s cool calm and collected going on, ha!), so it was really fun to spend the day with them.
Rachel got ready at her parents stunning home, the day was quite warm and I won’t lie, the swimming pool looked VERY inviting! After a celebratory glass of bubbles (girls after my own heart!), it was time to get ready with Mum and bridesmaids and do the ‘reveal’ to Dad at the bottom of the staircase – so sweet!
After a few family and bridal portraits, we were off to the chapel at the stunning venue of Abbeville Estate.
Mike Heard was their celebrant (we have photographed Mike and his wife Helens wedding and two children, so it was extra special to have him there, the guests also couldn’t stop raving about what a wonderful ceremony he took – if you’re on the hunt for a celebrant, get in touch!) and it was just such a lovely ceremony!
Celebrations followed with glasses of bubbles in the gardens, photos with family and friends, and of course photos with the stunning bridal party! We snuck off towards the end with just Rachel and Jesse for some photos in the field down the road and a bit of quiet time for the newly married couple. We try to plan a little 20 minute window at the end of each location shoot, to steal the bride and groom away for some time alone, which we are always told after the day is a time that they really treasured to just stop and enjoy each others company, talk about the day, and just have a wee moment together, in what is a very emotional and busy day.
We headed back to Abbeville and enjoyed listening and documenting the wonderful and hilarious speeches – when we heard that Rachel has a similar habit to me of listening to her favourite song on repeat, Delwyn gave me a smile across the room – I knew Rachel and I got on well for a reason, haha!
We left them eating cake and celebrating into the night with family and friends, what an incredible day!
